MUJ is a self-financed private state university. It was launched in 2011 on invitation from the Government of Rajasthan.
The campus is located near Jaipur: at Dehmi Kalan (on Jaipur-Ajmer expressway), on a 122-acre permanent campus.
It belongs to the broader legacy of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (which runs reputed institutions across India and abroad).
MUJ is a multi-disciplinary university with a wide range of courses — undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), doctoral — across many streams. Here are some major faculties and courses:
Major Faculties / Streams
Engineering & Technology
Architecture & Design / Planning
Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, etc.)
Computer Applications & IT
Management, Commerce, Business & EconomicsArts, Humanities, Liberal Arts, Journalism & Mass Communication, Social Sciences
Hospitality & Tourism / Hotel-Management / Allied-Health / Other professional-streams

Examples of Courses
B.Tech (various specializations: Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.)
B.Arch / Architecture & Planning / Design courses

Post-Graduate: M.Tech / M.Sc / MCA / MBA / MA / M.Com / LLM / PG in design & architecture & more.
Doctoral / Research-mode courses in relevant streams too.
Also: MUJ offers online / distance-mode degree programmes (BCA, BBA, BCom, MBA, MCA, etc.) under its online wing — for people needing flexible learning.
Wide variety of courses and disciplines — from engineering to humanities to hospitality to law; great if you want flexibility or are unsure what field you want initially.
Modern infrastructure: well-equipped campus, research facilities, digital library, labs, hostels, campus life etc.
Accreditation & Recognition: MUJ is recognized by regulatory bodies like University Grants Commission (UGC). Its various professional-stream approvals (engineering, architecture, etc.) are in place.
Good for non-metro / Rajasthan-based students: If you’re from Rajasthan (or nearby), MUJ gives access to a reputed private-university education without having to go far.
Option of online/flexible learning: For working students or those who cannot relocate — MUJ’s online courses provide a fallback.
Being a private university: fee structure tends to be higher compared to many government colleges (especially for engineering / professional courses).
If opting for courses via online mode — even though they are “recognized”, the experience (self-study, less campus exposure) will differ from on-campus courses.
For certain niche or less-popular courses (or newer streams), placement outcomes may vary — depending on demand, industry linkups, and student performance.
As with many private universities: it’s important to check admission criteria carefully (especially for technical courses), and understand what specializations are available when you apply.
MUJ could be a good fit if you:
Want diverse course options (not just engineering) so you can choose from arts, commerce, design, law, hotel-management, etc.
Prefer a well-equipped private-university campus near Rajasthan (less travel compared to faraway metros).
Want flexibility — maybe online courses make sense (e.g. if working, or need a degree without relocating).
Aim for a mix of academic & professional education, keeping options open for IT / management / design / humanities, etc.
